Hello our wonderful readers,
My name is Emenike Emmanuel, founder of Entrepreneur Business Blog. It’s a pop-pleasing pleasure, as well as a privilege to have you on our today’s edition of Entrepreneur Interview Series with Ryan Biddulph from Blogging from Paradise.
For a couple of months I have known and followed our guest, Ryan Biddulph, he seems to be everywhere at the same time. I think I also mentioned this in one of our previous posts where I talked about 10 marketing strategies I learned following 10 blogs in the U.S.
Getting a blogger of his class is no easy feat. He’s popular on the internet, well-travelled and have a vast knowledge when it comes to growing a successful blog.
Quickly, grab your seat and let us move to the interview proper. But before then, watch this short video.
EBB: We know you are a popular figure but for the sake of our audience who don’t know you, can you please introduce yourself? Who is Ryan Biddulph?
Ryan: I am an island hopping pro blogger who helps people build successful blogs. I am also the creator and owner of Blogging From Paradise.
EBB: Where and where have you been featured?
Ryan: I have been featured on:
- RIchard Branson’s Virgin blog
- Forbes
- Entrepreneur
- Fox News
- The Huffington Post
- NYU
- Positively Positive
- Life Hack
- Pro Blogger
- Smart Blogger
….among other websites.
EBB: What did you do differently that got you featured in these top websites, including Forbes, Entrepreneur, HuffingtonPost, Richard Branson’s Virgin Blog, etc?
Ryan: I didn’t desperately ask people to feature me. I helped people without looking for anything in return.
I promoted top bloggers, commented on their blogs and featured them on my blogs, never asking for a return promotion, not looking to get anything.
Over time, these folks befriended me, promoted me, endorsed me, and put me enough on the radar where folks from these top sites wanted to interview me.
EBB: As one who has enjoyed massive traffic on your blog, BloggingfromParadise, how can bloggers generate traffic to their blog on automation?
Ryan: As for automating, it is a slippery slope trying to boost traffic solely through automation.
I’d solve problems through your blog, guest post and comment effectively on top blogs.
Then you can use tools like Retweet Old Post, Hootsuite and Social Ooomph to do some automation, but keep manually engaging on social media sites too, to remind people you are a human blogger, not a bot.
EBB: Making money from one’s blog is a challenge most bloggers are facing. As an entrepreneur who has been in the business of blogging for many years, can you give a road map for making money from blogging?
Ryan: Help people for free. For many, many years.
Then, when you open income streams across a few channels, after people love the freemium version of your help (blog posts and guest posts and videos and podcasts and audios and 1 to 1 interactions and emails answered and Warrior Forum threads and Quora answers and 545 other things you did online, for free), they will buy the premium version of your blog.
If you see a blogging millionaire, they helped 50,000 to 100,000 or even 1,000.000 people for free before they made their millions of dollars.
PS….this interview is a form of helping people for free 🙂
EBB: How were you able to write over 126 eBooks , amidst your travels and 250 online features?
Ryan: I love writing. So I wrote.
I felt inspiration. I wanted to share my thoughts via an eBook, and since I always make room for what I love to do, I set aside 3 hours every morning when I was living in Bali 2 years ago, to write and self-publish a 6000 word eBook.
I am big on scheduling; I spend a few minutes doing one thing, or maybe an hour, then drop it like a hot potato and do the next thing. All because I am clear on what I am doing online, and don’t waste time cowering to my fears or getting too attached to doing any 1 thing online.
EBB: If you were to begin from scratch again, what are the things you will likely do differently to achieve this level of success you are enjoying in less than six months?
Ryan: I’d focus exclusively on blogging for passion, not profits. I would focus on fun, not finances. Then I would begin writing 1000 words daily for practice and guest posting and blog commenting, after I got my energy right.
EBB: What’s your prediction about online business in the next 10 years from now? What impact do you think artificial intelligence (Internet of Things) will have on it?
Ryan: Onward and upward!
As for AI, it can influence the online business world but until earth turns into the movie Terminator 2, we will rely on human beings to grow and sustain our businesses.
EBB: What advice do you have for entrepreneurs desiring to growth hack their business?
Ryan: Slow down.
Calm down.
Hacking can be dangerous.
Especially if you are looking for shortcuts.
Good things take time.
EBB: Thank you so for the amazing responses you gave us in this edition of Entrepreneur Interview Series. What would you say about Entrepreneur Business Blog? And are there suggestions you can give us to expand this business blog?
Ryan: You are welcome. Keep doing what you are doing, love what you are up to.

Susan
Susan excellent point here. I had to learn this lesson the hard way before I bought in fully.
Hi Susan,
You can say that again. Ryan is just phenomenal. I’m glad to host him on this interview.
Emenike
This is interesting Emenike, I love what you are up to.
One of the downfall of new bloggers is the quick money. Blogging is not what can generate you money overnight. You need to understand what your audience need, give them free food and they will pay you tomorrow.
Blog for passion, write what you like and enjoy share to family and friend. with that, you will be able to reach people who love reading your content and even share it with your friend, this can land thousands of visitors on your website.
One thing I used to hear from people is: “I want to quit my job and start blogging, I hope I will make money in my first month?” And if I asked them; Can you write 5 content with 500 words in a week? They will reply that they can’t write. Then, how do you make money?
Though is not easy, because I myself used to find it difficult to update my sites with content, not because am too lazy but because I have many work at hand which am planning to hire content writer that will help me.
Reader are Leader…. Read content online, stop reading about Gossiping news alone, read what can change your life. For almost a month, i may not even read news, is only when I want to get myself updated on what is happening around me that makes me read news. And I don’t read what i don’t need.
Before I will end this comment, I will like to appreciate Ryan Biddulph. This is an interesting Interview. You are not new to me, I came across one of our content online, I can’t even remember where, maybe Forbe or other Guest Blog site which land me on your website. Even I still have one of your post saved on my Notepad because I want to re-read it. “6 Warning Signs You Need To Move Up In Blogging Circles” Keep it up.
Thanks for this once again Eme………..
Ezekiel that is cool; I recall writing that article you saved. Brilliant comment bro; thanks so much for sharing.
