Web blog traffic
Blog growth

Are you finding it difficult to grow your blog in terms of profit and search engine ranking?

Calm down, I have good news for you.

Have you been able to figure out strategic daily routines you can implement to grow your blog (online business) on something that looks more like on “autopilot”?

If not, why not? I have wrapped up a great package for you in this blog post.

What if I tell you that taking simple actions that don’t necessarily last more than an hour daily can result to a huge blog growth in a month, will you believe it?

You need not to doubt me on this. I have proven track record to show for it.

But you see, building a successful blog, like I will often tell our readers is not a game of luck. You must invest quality time in order to growth hack your blog to a point of reference.

Nothing diminishes the potency of a blog to attract traffic continuously, reduce bounce rate and convert readers to customers like the inability of bloggers to implement certain necessary daily routines.

Bloggers who implement these simple tasks I’m about to share with you in this blog post have seen their blogs take on a geometrical increase over the years. All of them make nothing less than $10,000 from their blogs on a monthly basis.

It’s for these potentials that I have decided to follow their blogs, network with them and do it exactly the way they are doing it. After all, who wouldn’t like to be like the masters?

Simple Tasks Top Bloggers Do Daily to Grow their Blog

To grow your blog (online business), do the following:

1. Write Consistently to Master the Art of Writing Quality Content

We learn to write well by first writing badly. Every good writer you see today was once a learner. But how would they have gone this far without mastering the art of writing?

None of the top bloggers you see today were perfect when they started out newly in their blogging career. Most of them had to hone their skills over and over again.

The fastest way to improve your craft is to write daily. Writing daily helps you master the art of word organization.

Nothing frustrates a writer like knowing what to write but lack words to put them together.

You don’t necessarily need to publish everything you wrote per day- some will be published, while some will never get published. What’s most important is that you are improving your craft (word usage and speed).

2. Visit Other Blogs to Grow Yours

I got to know and establish contact with Ryan Biddulph, CEO of Blogging from Paradise who has been featured on Forbes, Entrepreneur, The HuffingtonPost and so many other top media organizations and has written over 120 ebooks after visiting and responding to a guest post he made on Enstine Muki’s blog. I also came to know Okon Joseph, a top Nigerian freelance writer after guest posting together with him on EnterpriseBoom.

Top bloggers don’t necessarily compete like most people are thinking. They visit each other and collaborate. Severally, I have seen Matthew Woodward mention and link to John Chow and Darren Rowse of Problogger, Sue Anne D., owner of SuccessfulBlogging linking to Carol Tice, Michael Dunlop of IncomeDiary linking to Yaro Starak of Entrepreneurs-Journey and so on and so forth.

Personally, I can’t stay a day without visiting at least 10 blogs in my niche. After each visit, I take note of the things I need to correct and improve on this business blog and other blogs I run.

It was in the course of visiting Suprabhat’s blog, MoneyGossips that I discovered how my recent post negatively impacted on my bounce rate. And as quickly as possible, I made the necessary corrections to reduce it.

Harsh Agrawal’s blog, ShoutMeLoud has also being a great source of backlink to my blog. Though it didn’t happen overnight, but by giving attention to how he makes over $30k monthly on his blog has set my passion on fire.

Top bloggers can’t stay a day without checking what’s going on in the world of blogging and online businesses.

This is one of the ultimate guides to building a successful online business.

3. Make at Least 10 Reasonable Comments on Other Blogs

Do you know that making quality comments on other blogs can help to increase the growth of your blog?

If you don’t know it, be informed today. The place of making quality comments on other blogs can’t be overemphasized if truly you desire to growth hack your blog.

Why You Should Start Commenting on Other Blogs

1. You build RELATIONSHIP with other bloggers when you comment on their blogs.

2. You get BACKLINKS to your blog.

3. You drive TRAFFIC to your blog when you comment on other blogs.

4. You establish and grow your BRAND by constantly getting it out.

5. It’s is the fastest way to SELF-PROMOTE yourself and your online business without spending a dime.

However simple this task of commenting on other blogs may be, you may not profit from it if:

• you don’t sign up on Gravatar (to make your image come up alongside your comment).

• you don’t make meaningful and thought-provoking comments.

• your comments sound spamming; things like, “Nice post, great post, interesting etc.”

• your comment does not add value to the post.

• your comment is too promotional.

4. Share Your Blog Post on Social Media

Social media is one of the fastest channels top bloggers are using to drive traffic to their blog.

You can’t say you are serious with your blogging career without establishing your brand on social media.

The social media platform you choose should be based on how much of your ideal customers are already using it.

From time to time, you will see me share links of my new and old posts on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Google+, LinkedIn, Pinterest, LindaIkejiSocial etc. This is not peculiar to I alone, other top bloggers do it.

5. Respond to Comments on Your Blog

To build relationship with other bloggers you must learn to respond to comments made on your blog.

Nothing can be more irritating to people who took time to respond to your blog post like ignoring them.

When you respond to comments on your blog, it shows that you truly appreciate their time.

No matter how irritating the comment was, respond to it in a polite manner and you might end up winning him/her over. Most talented people who don’t achieve success in their business are guilty of this and more.

These tasks, though may look simple but their impacts are unimaginable. If you can make conscious decision to apply them in the next one month, you will be amazed at how your blog will grow. Doing this will help you spend less on marketing your blog. Bet me, you will get:

• high Alexa ranking.

• more visibility on search engine.

• more traffic to your blog.

• more interaction on your blog.

• high conversion.

  9. Hey Emenike,

Awesome tips there and I can’t tell you how important these are.

Good writing, consistency, and the act of pushing the content around. Then, doing this for years before traffic comes pouring in and then you begin to make sense of that influx and do something about it.

Blogging is business, and it should be treated as such. Most people get into this thinking that it should be easy, but they’ll realize (sooner or later) that it’s not.

Imagine writing everyday, for years, even before the first dollar comes in or even the first comment. No wonder it’s getting harder than it should be.

    1. Hello Ash,
You are right. It takes time and hard work to grow a successful blog. Blogging ought to be worked on like a business. And that’s the best way to go. Thank you for stopping by. I checked you out too. You are doing a great work.

      1. Hi Emenike,

For 12 years, all the writing and all the hustle in the world was dedicated to others. I don’t see anything wrong with that since that’s the service I provide. However, I thought I owed it to myself to do something worthwhile.

Plus, I’d have a great case study if my little blogging experiment with groovywebtools would work.

Thank you so much for the kind words, Emenike. I am in the neighborhood 🙂 Ready to pop in on your blog.

        1. Hi Ash,

12 years? Wow! That’s a whole lot of investment. By now you must have mastered the art of blogging and building a viable business from it. I will be interested in your case study too when it is out. Do let me know please, However, I will always check on you.

  21. I’ve been diggging up quality Nigerian sites for my new blog to rank and exhibit when I bumped into your site today. I’ve been quite hooked on your website for while now and I can say you are a pro-blogger. Your website is beautiful, organized, and professional.

You Blog is a mentor blog for people who want to go into professional Blogging in Nigeria.

Keep it up, Mr Emmanuel. Nigeria is proud of you and I’ll definitely mention you on my Blog.

I was researching the best Entrepreneur Blogs in Nigeria when I came across the link to your website.
However, I noticed your blog is more skewed towards professional blogging rather than entrepreneurship or SME.

Right now, I’m confused of this blog’s niche.

Evidently, the domain suggests “entrepreneurship” and there are a few posts that backs that up, yet the general content proves that it’s more of a “blogigng niche” blog and it’s hard for me to include it as one of the best entrepreneurship blogs in Nigeria or one of the best blogging blogs in Nigeria.

I hope you’ll be able to clear my niche confusions.

    1. Hi Oladokun,

Thanks for stopping over on our blog. Your observation is real. But we actually did that intentionally because we are trying to build a bridge for those that want to bring their business online to be able to transition effortlessly. Often times, not knowing how to run a successful blog makes it difficult for them to fully utilize content marketing in growing their business.

You can go ahead to mention our blog. Tell your readers that we serve those entrepreneurs who want to start, manage and grow their business using digital tools. Though the owner is a Nigerian but we write for the global community – that’s why we stopped mentioning Nigeria in our headlines. 99% of our writers are not Nigerians.

      Best regards…

  22. Hi Emmanuel,

I spent the whole day on your blog by clicking here and there to learn new things about blogging. I know well enough about my niche and business, but I don’t know anything about blogging and how SEO work.

I found the 3rd point (Commenting on other blogs) is the most important thing I learned today. I didn’t even know that commenting is that much effective. I comment on good articles (for me) which I learn something new, just to show my gratitude to the author.

This comment also has that purpose only because I learn a lot from your articles today. Thank you very much.

    1. Hello Nirodha,

Good to have you here. I’m glad to know that you learned something new from this article.

I hope to see you again and again.

      1. Definitely. This blog is on my daily visiting list.

  23. Wow this is inspring, i will take advantage of these tips and apply them in growing my blog. Thanks for sharing
